To start, LongLastings would like it to be known that it does not
sell Ginseng plants or seeds, and is not a promoter of any company.
LongLastings does sell Ginseng in powdered form only. To obtain
powdered Ginseng from LongLastings return the Main Menu and choose,
chapter.8, DETERRENT CATALOG, a handy capsule maker and capsules are
made available also.
Ginseng has been used for thousands of years, by the Chinese, and
other cultures to prolong life, restore virility, energy to the mind
and limbs, and to treat arthritis and rheumatism, and to dissolve
tumors. It relieves fatigue, and increases vitality, is considered
a mild stomachic tonic for digestive affections that arise from
mental and nervous exhaustion. In this day and age of stress, who
can afford to be without a readily available health restorer such as
this?
This make Ginseng one of the most sought after herbs ever!
WHAT IS GINSENG?
American Ginseng is a fleshy rooted herb native to cool and shaded
Hardwood forests (Lime may be added to coniferous forest areas to
make a good growing medium for Ginseng). Ginseng is valued by the
Chinese and Koreans who believe the dried roots contains valuable
medical properties.
Ginseng grows about 1 foot tall. Leaves of mature plants usually
consist of 5 ovate leaflets. It blooms in midsummer, the flowers
are greenish yellow. Seed is borne in clusters and when ripe are
bright red, and usually ripen about August 15-30. Roots are
spindle shaped and vary in size of 2-6 inches long and up to 1 inch
thick, the size depends on the age of the plant.
When planted from seed in the woods, it takes 3-5 years to get good
marketable-sized roots, and when grown under artificial shade 2-5
years. Roots grown in the woods in its natural state are lighter in
weight, but always bring twice to three times as much per pound than
do the cultivated or artificial shade-grown roots. Planting Ginseng
is not a get rich quick deal, but a good investment for future
income.
Try a good sized patch and see what relief and pleasure it will
bring you in the few short years it takes to grow a money patch!
